Celebration of Life:  Saturday, October 5, 2019, 1:00 p.m., Fischer’s Funeral Services, 4060 1st Ave. SW, Salmon Arm

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorie-Ann Belanger (nee Brown). Lorie-Ann was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan on July 13th, 1957. She passed on September 17th, 2019 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital with Family by her side after a very long battle with cancer. Lorie-Ann is survived by her beloved Husband of 30 years Grant Belanger; Mother Doreen Brown; her three Daughters Rebecca Barker, Rachael Litke (Drew), and Sarah Reid (Kellie); Granddaughters Laura Litke and Hayley Barker; Brother Craig Brown (Carol); Nephew Justin Brown (Taryn) and their children Konnor, Kayson, Kinley.

Lorie-Ann moved to Salmon Arm from Wilkie, Saskatchewan at the age of 6. She graduated from Salmon arm Secondary in 1975. Soon after her passion for travel and adventure started and lasted throughout her life. She worked at Bastion place as A Health care Aide for 25 years. That alone is a testament to who she was as a person. She always put the care of others before herself. Her passion was family. She put her whole life into her family and we are forever grateful. She was the most wonderful Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother and Aunt.

The family would like to thank all the Staff (Doctors, Nurses and NUAs) at the Cancer clinic at SLGH for their kindness, their hard work and the wonderful care they gave to Lorie-Ann. We would also like to thank her Doctor and the Nurses who cared for her on her final day on level 2 at SLGH. You not only took care of her but the family as well and we are forever grateful.

In Lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Shuswap Lake Hospital Foundation.

  1. I just heard about Lori-Ann’s passing. I’m so sorry. Lori-Ann and I were great friends growing up in Salmon Arm as teens. She was a wonderful warm person!

Our trip together with Jim Funk to Hawaii and New Zealand back in ‘78 was fun.

We had lots of fun in band with Tanis and Teresa.

That is all so many years ago. Unfortunately we didn’t keep in contact over the years but I always had the utmost respect for Lori-Ann and her mom and dad!

Love to the family. I know you all must be missing her dearly. ☹️
