  1. Dear Calay family,Our sincerest condolences. We had the pleasure and honor of knowing Marcel. We first met Marcel back in December of 1996 he would drive down from Sorrento to stay at the Inn at Avila Beach for a month every year until a few years back when he could no longer make the drive. He was always so kind and generous to the staff and their families he would always bring Christmas gifts to the housekeepers and their children. He was always a joy to talk to.He would cook large meals and always offer the staff to join him he especially enjoyed the company of the housekeepers and they always got a kick out of him.We will always remember him in our thoughts and in our prayers.I often thought of Marcel and the last time I spoke to him was Christmas Day 2012 by phone.I tried calling him in the last year and now know with deep sadness why his phone just rang. From all of us from the Inn,Mr. Michael Kidd,Claudia,Maridel,Joe,Jaime and Ed(a.k.a. By Jethro name given by Marcel if you remembered the Beverly Hillbillies)Alma,Eddie and Belen.

  2. Farewell to my Grandad Marcel Calay. I will miss our phone calls and your funny accent. You were always so kind to me and my mum and for this we both thank you. I do so hope my lock of hair will be with you on your final journey home to Belgium. You always accepted me and my Autism and treated me with Love. We will never forget you and neither will our Hearts. With both me and my mum for Always.
Goodbye Grandad. I love you and I will do you proud.xoxo
