Caron, Roger Robert Joseph

November 4, 1931 – February 26, 2017
at the age of 85 years

Roger passed away quietly in his sleep on February 26.
Roger was born in Timmins, Ontario to Laurent and Annie May Caron (nee St. Aubin).  He had two sisters, Rita Timm and Theresa Bernatchez, both now deceased.
He had 4 children, Margaret Anne Lowden (deceased), Roger Caron (deceased), Lori O’Malley in Red Deer, Danny O’Malley in Kelowna, wife Ornella.  He also had 2 grandchildren, Abbie (Calgary) and Christopher (Kelowna) as well as nieces and nephews in Timmins and Sarnia.
Roger worked at a number of mines in Ontario.  He moved to B.C. in the 70’s where he lived in Revelstoke, Canoe, and most recently Salmon Arm.  He also lived in Stettler, Alberta for a short time.  But B.C was where he wanted to be.
Roger married Ruth (deceased 2007) and was happy to have found a unique and wonderful partner.
He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed many a corny joke which he told often.
Our dad lived at Pioneer Lodge in Salmon Arm for a number of years and most recently spent the last while at Hillside Village.  He expressed the fact that he enjoyed it there and that the staff was wonderful and attentive.
Roger was cremated as per his wishes.  We are planning to spread his ashes in the future.
“And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.”
From “The Prophet”, by Kahlil Gibran.
