Appel, Jacob “Jack”

April 16, 1932 – July 30, 2024
at the age of 92 years:     

Jacob (Jack) Appel, 92 years, passed away on Tuesday, July 30th in the Salmon Arm General Hospital.  Jack was predeceased by his wife Gloria of 62 years, his brother Wilfred Appel and sister Alvina Bernhardt.  Jack will be sadly missed by his three children Kim (Shane) Kuntz of West Kelowna, BC, Gary (Jane) Appel of Irricanna, AB and Donna Appel of Canoe, BC, his grandchildren Cody Appel of Airdrie, AB, Corey Kuntz of West Kelowna, BC, Jaclynn and Blake Litchfield of Canoe, BC, great grand children Cashton Kuntz and Brody Appel, sister Agnes Exner of Melville, SK, brother Raymond Appel of MB, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Jack and Gloria married in Regina, SK in 1958 and in 1967 moved to Melville, SK where Jack and his brother Wilfred started Apple’s Transport.  In 1969 Jack moved his family to Calgary, AB where he worked for Alberta Furniture for a few years, then worked for Servicemaster managing the Banff Springs and Lake Louise Hotels.  In 1984 Jack and Gloria owned and operated Punky’s Pizza in Calgary, AB, then a few years later Jack and Gloria retired in Canoe, BC.

Jack is best known for his wit, sense of humor and making people laugh.  He loved to entertain, and loved country music, playing the harmonica and dancing.  He liked to BBQ, make apple pies and cabbage rolls.  His love, affection and generosity will be truly missed. 

We would like to give Dr. Enns a special thank you for the exceptional care she gave Jack, also special thanks to the Home Care division, all the Care Aids that came to the house brightening up his day and all the Doctors and Nurses at the Salmon Arm Hospital for providing excellent care for Jack and a very special thanks to Vince and Tammy Fischer for making everything so easy at a time of sorrow.  Thank you everyone.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

at the age of 79 years:

Victor was born in Bolsover, England and passed away in Salmon Arm, BC.  He was 79 years old.

Memorial service will be held at the LDS Church in Salmon Arm, BC on July 31, 2024 at 11:00a.m.

Gordon, Linda Lucille

July 7, 1946 – July 26, 2024
at the age of 78 years:     

Linda Lucille Gordon, a courageous, strong, talented, one-of-a-kind lady, left this world to embark on new adventures July 26, 2024.  A beloved Mom, Granny, Great-Granny, and Friend, Linda was well known for her free spirit and willingness to try new things.   Her adventurous soul knew no bounds and she loved with all her heart.  Linda was not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.  Her caring nature and willingness to lend a hand will always be remembered. 

Predeceased by her loving husband, Barry, whom she greatly missed, Linda was able to find comfort and joy in the company of a special and dedicated friend, Win.  Together they shared many cherished moments and adventures after Barry’s passing. 

Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and curiosity will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Linda is survived by Daughters, Charlene (Chris), Cheryl (Dale), Granddaughters Bailey (Braeden), Brooklyn (Spencer) and Great-Granddaughter Grace, brother Gary, several cousins, nieces, nephews and her best friend Win.

Love you buckets and buckets!  Goodbye for now, but not forever – you will be missed!

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will not be a formal service.
