CELEBRATION OF LIFE 
A Celebration of Life and tea will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 FROM 1-4 pm at the Shuswap Lake Estates Community Hall. 

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Sherry Lee Damm (nee Shilmar) on May 27, 2023 at her home in Sorrento, BC.

Sherry was born May 3, 1967 in Boines in Calgary where she grew up and lived before moving to BC as an adult.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband Dean Damm, son Kyle Fortch, stepdaughter Mariah Friesen and her family, her mother Linda Folkard Shilmar and her aunts Pat and June and families, her sister Stacy Skelton and family, her half-brother Brian Shilmar and her beautiful loving doggies, Keisha and Nikita, who still look for her every day. Sherry was pre-deceased by the father of her son, Marcel Fortch and her father Charlie Shilmar.

Please join us on Aug 26, 2023 for a celebration of her life and tea at the Shuswap Lake Estates Community Center, 2405 Centennial Dr, Blind Bay, across from the golf course, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

    Rick and I are still in shock after hearing that you had passed away. It is
    such a small world we live in. We enjoyed your company, though we did not see each other very often. A very brief connection in our childhoods and then another brief connection as adults. You are missed. I hope you are able to look down and feel pride and love by those who knew and loved you.

  2. Sherry, you have passed too soon and will be missed. I still remember your painting classes with fondness. Thank you for all the artistic skills you shared. And your fun & laughter. I will remember you in the special paintings on my wall.

  3. It’s been almost 3 months and I still have a hard time accepting you are gone from us. Our friendship spanned over 20 years. I can still hear your laugh. I still see your smile. I have so many memories and that will have to keep me for now. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of my life. The gift of art you shared with so many will always be cherished. And your friendship is missed. Till we meet again my lady. For this life is as long as a bugs eyelash. Miss you xoxox

  4. Sherry your lovely smile and laughs will be missed. I will look at your art work, I was so luck to receive last Christmas, with a smile and think of you. Keep painting that sky!

  5. My deepest condolences to Sherry’s family. I knew Sherry through painting. She was a gifted artist and teacher of art and a wonderful, kind human being.

  6. Oh my dear cousin. What happened to such a beautiful, talented and young woman. Learning about your passing took my breath away. I’m so glad I took the opportunity last summer to visit with you. I’m feeling confident that you are now with your dad in beautiful heaven ❤️

  12. Dearest Sherry…. you will be missed by soooo many. You’re knowledge of painting, sense of humour, sassiness and friendship were some of your most endearing qualities. When I see spectaular skies, I will think of you up there painting for us all!!!!! Rest in Peace.
