Hill, Glenn Edward

May 24, 1955 – April 2, 2025
at the age of 69 years:

Glenn Hill died unexpectedly in Kelowna, BC. He was born in Yorkton, SK, and was a resident of Salmon Arm since 1988. Glenn had a strong sense of community and was active with local organizations. Most notably, he was involved in minor football and hockey, Rotary, and the building of the Little Mountain Sports Complex. Glenn served as the SASCU board chair for several terms. Glenn worked as a Professional Forester for most of his career. He also had his own building inspection business, Shuswap Consulting Services.

Above all, he loved his family and friends. His grandson, Duncan, had a special place in his heart. Glenn is survived by his wife, Kirstine, daughter Caitlin Wallis (Bradley), son Richard, grandson Duncan Wallis, his siblings Bob Hill and Valerie Huffman and their families.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local charity. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

  2. Dear Kristine and family ,
We were very sorry to hear of Glenn’s sudden death.
Glenn was a slightly older cousin who I thought was pretty special when we were growing up,and his family visited us at the farm. I thought it was even more special when he and Kristine took the time to attend our wedding in Swift Current in 1978.
Our sincerest condolences to all of you.

  6. I was shocked and saddened to see Glenn’s obituary in the Salmon Arm Observer this weekend. I had the great privilege of being recruited by Glenn to be one of the three coaches for the inaugural season of the Shuswap Minor Football Association. Glenn and his good friend, Garth Lord, had a vision for football in Salmon Arm, and they worked tirelessly to make it happen. This was a significant accomplishment, not only for those first players in Salmon Arm, but for countless young men over the past 20 years in our community. That privilege of being one of the first coaches extended to seeing his son, Richard, thrive in that sport. The pride that Glenn had for his son’s athletic gifts was ever present. I know that this pride extended to his entire family because he always had stories to share with me about how everyone was doing. My thoughts are with all of you as you process this huge loss. He clearly left this world too soon.

  7. Our deepest condolences to Kirstine and family. From our first chance meeting with Glenn offering “free advice” on a trailer we were looking at, to the many happy hour times thereafter, we learned to love our many Canadian friends for their spirit of fun and giving hearts. Thank you for that, Glenn and Kirstine! Never shy to give an opinion or an adult beverage, his friendship will be missed by many. Glenn – you packed a lot of life in your years!

Glenn kinda seemed like a bit of a gruff old guy when we first met him, LOL, but after a few Happy Hours & hikes, it was clear he was one of the good ones!! We truly will miss him…….RIP Bud

Again, our hearts go out to the family.

  15. Nowhere could you find a better person to call your friend. Glenn’s sense of humor and his knowledge of so many things are what drew me to him, as a friend.

Even though he never found the love of a good Busch Light, I could still guff a nasty Coors with him. I even enjoyed his fishy tasting hors d’oeuvres because…well, I’m not sure why.

I’ll miss you coming by in AZ for visits. I’ll miss our political talks, but most of all I’ll just miss you.

You were one of a kind. We’ll take care of Kirstine from here.

    Rest easy, my friend!
