Kelly, Richard Wallace “Wally”

January 1, 1947 – June 14, 2025
at the age of 78 years:     

In loving memory of Richard Wallace Kelly (Wally) who came into this world January 1st, 1947, and left us on June 14th, 2025.   Born to Gertrude and Bob Kelly in Kings Clear, New Brunswick, Wally was the 7th son out of 13 children.  

He was predeceased by brothers Fred, Ray, Howard, Lloyd, Everett and Doug and sisters Winnie and Marilyn. 

Wally is survived by sisters Elaine and Debbie, brothers Roger (Susan) and Blaine (Brigitta), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wally is also survived by his loving wife Catherine and his children Rick, Annemieka (Brent), Nathan and Ryan as well as seven grandchildren Brady, Owen, Chris, Nick, Gabe, Emerson and Beth. 

No service by request.  No flowers by request.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Shuswap Lake General Hospital or BC Transplant society would be welcome.

  1. Wally had a laugh and presence larger than life. I can still see him and Cathy on their wedding day, the sun was shining and the outdoor ceremony was beautiful! There have been many adventures and travels you shared with fond memories. Lots of laughter. Now he is at peace.

  2. So sorry about Wally, glad to have spent a wee bit of time up there with you both a couple of times. Cathy you really kept him going, very interesting life he had. RIP, pain and health worries are over now. Thinking of you at this time, hope to see you one of these days, won’t be surprised if you decide to stay up there, but time will help you decide, lovely home and place.

  3. Sorry to hear about Wally passing. It’s been awhile since we seen each other. Had lots of respect for Wally. He taught me to be a better officer/partner and shared awesome stories, laughter and few social drinks. I miss your awesome “smile “ and that’s what I see every time I think of you. RIP MY FRIEND.

  5. I met Wally and Cathy while visiting my friends Jane and Randy . We had some good laughs sitting around their table sharing treats and stories… Wally will be missed…

    The wonderful memories of the Fraser Rd and cabin days, when we were so young.Im glad I have those memories of Wally.And of Cathy and Wally finding each other again.

  16. The memories I have of Wally are many. The Hippy days were full of fun and Wally was alwalys part of the fun. Even though we were miles apart, we somehow managed to touch base a few times. A friend said, once you met Wally, you never forgot him. Such true words. My deepest sympathy to his family.

  17. I have known Wally and (Cathy too) since I was 16 years old and have so many fond memories of him. My husband met him years later and became good friends with him and Cathy and the 4 of us shared many wonderful, and special times together. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you Cathy, the whole family, and friends as we share in the loss of our beloved Wally.

  18. We lost a fine and good friend when Wally left us. Many fun times together with him and Cathy. A privilege to have known him and will surely miss him. Thoughts and prayers with the family.
