Klassen, Henry

August 7, 1925 – January 14, 2026
at the age of 100 years:

On Wednesday January 14th, 2026, at the age of 100 years, Henry passed into the presence of his loving Saviour. He was a man of great faith who loved the Lord. He faithfully read his bible and 2 devotionals daily until just before he passed. He was a prayer warrior for his family. His desire was for others to see Christ in him and we have no doubt he heard the words “Well done my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23) when he entered glory.

Henry was predeceased by Helen, his loving wife, of 74 years. He is survived by their seven children: Vina (Mal), John (Sandi), Dave (Maria), Dan (Cheri), Ruth (Jerry), Susan (Leo) and Tamara, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, his brother George, numerous nieces, nephews and many others who lovingly called him grandpa, dad, or pops.

Over the years the Klassen’s home was open to everyone with warmth and hospitality. Henry was often heard asking if anyone was hungry. He was always ready to feed the guests in their home.  Henry didn’t have a formal education. He worked as a machinist for many years. He was skilled in various areas. He could often be found working on his or someone else’s car or doing odd jobs at home or at the church. If you needed a ride, he was the one to call.

He was so loved and will be dearly missed.

There will be a Graveside Service for family on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

  1. All our prayers and love to the family of Henry. A wonderful kind and godly man. It was truly an honor to have known him and seen his quiet strength and faith.

  2. What a humble and kind man he was! We remember if the conversation in a group was getting uncomfortable, he would say: ‘Let’s talk about something we can eat’.
Surely he will hear the words ‘Well done’, although in his humble way, he will not expect them. He is now with our Saviour and savouring every minute of that. Praying comfort for the Klassen family.
