April 25, 1951 – May 1, 2025
at the age of 74 years:
Brian Lightbody, aged 74, passed away peacefully at Bastion Place, on May 1, 2025. Born in Vancouver, BC, in April 1951, he and brother Wayne (deceased) and twin sister Margaret, moved with their parents to Bridge Lake in the South Cariboo in 1959. The family lived on a cattle ranch at Montana Lake. Brian attended school at Bridge Lake then attended high school in 100 Mile House and graduated in 1969. After working in northern BC logging, he returned to the home ranch and married Judy Mobbs, then moved to Williams Lake where he built a log house. Judy and Brian divorced, and Brian worked on various ranches in the Williams Lake area for many years. He moved to Sorrento and worked at various jobs until he retired.
Brian loved to play guitar and sing and shared many a laugh with friends over the years. He will be missed. He was generous and hard working and had a great sense of humour.
No service by request, friends and family can have a drink in his honour.
A big thank you to Bastion Place, the excellent staff there made his last days peaceful and fun.
I knew Brian and Judy, great people, Brian was a great guy, he was always there if you needed help. I will always remember his laughter and that warm smile.
