Mackie, George William born May 6, 1938, in Red Deer, Alberta to Isreal and Frances Humulamki, passed away in Salmon Arm on August 6, 2018. George was predeceased by his late wife Wilma and their infant son, Richard along with his sister Norma, step sister Delores and cousin Blanche who grew up with him.
George was one of the pioneer Cable TV Technicians working for over 30 years in the industry. He told many stories of his time in the reserve army in his teen years. George had a great love of old cars and built several over the years, ending with a 1948 Ford which he recently sold. Other hobbies included his collection of stamps, coins, dinky toys but all of these where over shadowed by the model railroad layouts that he built in five homes. George volunteered for several organizations over his 80 years the latest of which was the North Okanagan Gleaner’s for six years.
Survived by his loving wife Beth, his sons Michael and Monte (Laura) and their daughters Rachel and Leah, step children Laura (Evan), Kirstie (Mike), Ryan (Christy) and their children as well as several nieces and nephews.  George will be missed by many as he was loved by many.
If desired, a donation can be made to North Okanagan Valley Gleaner’s Society in George’s name.

  1. Sorry to hear about George. He’s was a great guy and good friend…we grew up together in north Red Deer during our teen years. Good times. George was the guy who got me interested in hot rods and they’ve been a big part of my life ever since. Lots of fun! Great memories! Thanks George!
