Lil ran many Businesses (ie: Rent-A-Wreck) before becoming a CGA and continuing on working as an Accountant in Grande Praire and Salmon Arm. Before Retiring she helped run McConnell Industries with her Husband Patrick McConnell. Lil began life in Southern Ontario and got married and had children in Brantford Ontario. Then a big move out to Northern Alberta. She met her 2nd Husband and grew her family in Grande Prairie Alberta and stayed there until they moved to Vernon BC to be closer to her Father. She stayed in Vernon until she met Patrick and enjoyed the last 17 years of her life in Salmon Arm. In school she was a top athlete in Track and Field and Gymnastics. She became interested in horses during her first marriage and continued challenging herself in western and English riding. Even started a breeding program raising mules. Once in BC she challenged herself with learning Boxing and Motorcycles. Loved going down to the Salt Flats and Volunteering and watching the racing. As she aged, she enjoyed meeting with her women’s groups and bible study. No matter what challenges she had in life, mentally, physically or emotionally. She always overcame them. She went back to school in her 30’s and became a CGA. Continued learning all kinds of activities. If she put her mind to something, she achieved it.
Thanks to Hillside Care home and all their wonderful staff who treat the people they care for like a loving family, her Doctor Cody Thompson, one of the best, her Church and Sisters, always there, her husband who had the hardest job, was there everyday to be with her to the end and Vince at Fischers Funeral Services who walked us through everything with kindness and compassion.
If you feel the need, live garden plants for Pat to plant in her name in the garden at the house.
Almighty saw fit to bring you to Himself after a very full life. I so enjoyed any meeting with you Lille, mostly through our life group.
And, at times when you were managing businesses.
Beautiful smile and gentle person with the love of our Lord shining through you.
I’m so glad to have known you, Lille.
