It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Arnold Lees Paul (Arn or Arnie as he was called by his many friends and family) passed away in his eighty fifth year.  Arnold was born in Viking, Alberta to John and Nellie Paul, he had one sister Catherine and two brothers Alfred (Marilyn) and Tom (Marg).  Arnold and his first wife Ada had many children, Lynn (Wanda), Phillip (Bonnie), Ricky, Charlene, Harry, Linda (Greg) and Laurie. Arnold was pre deceased by Ada and Harry and one grandson Kevin.  Arn was blessed to marry Thelma (Nov, 1974).  Arn then welcomed four step children Greg, Charlene, Don (Colleen) and Fred into the family.  One of the highlights of Arn’s life was a trip that he and Thelma made to Norway, he spoke of it with great joy. Arnie enjoyed his holiday bus trips, fishing, curling, golf and coaching baseball.  Arnold leaves his loving wife Thelma, his children, step children, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. Arnie was a hard worker all his life and loved to tell stories about his days working at A.L. Fortune School.  He will be missed by all. Rest in Peace.

  1. Thelma and family,
I am very sorry to hear today about Arne’s passing when I ran into Bob this afternoon. Since retiring four years ago I took a summer job at the Salmon Arm Golf Club where I first met Arne and his golf entourage, Bob, Art and Harold. I looked forward to see them “ every morning “ at 8 am even though their requested tee time is 9 am..
I had lots of time to talk with Arne regarding his family, working days and even his jockey days….
He always had a smile, loved his life and I am happy to have connected with him the past years.

  2. I am sorry for your loss Thelma. I did not know your husband Arnie but I always remember my Mom, Lydia Harder, saying how kind Arnie was in doing little jobs around her home on Gannor Road after my Dad passed away. She often remarked on his kindness and how nice it was to visit with both of you. He will be missed by all who knew him as well as you Thelma. Dorothy McIntosh

  3. Thelma
I will always remember Arnie at the golf course or at the curling rink. Always shared a smile or a laugh with me. Sorry for your loss.
