Ron was very active in his church as a member of the Knights of Columbus and as a singer in St. Joseph’s choir.  Ron was a sportsman and an outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting.  He also was an avid curler a member of the Salmon Arm Golf club.  Ron was also a member of the RCMP Veteran’s Association, notably assisting in the evacuation and movement of persons affected by the Salmon Arm forest fires in the 90’s.  He and mom stayed very active well into retirement and spent much of their time travelling but kept permanent residence in Salmon Arm until his passing.
Ron is preceded by his daughter Coleen.  He is survived by his wife Anna, sons Gregg, Kerry, Darrin, and Shawn, 11 grand children and one great grandchild.

  17. My prayers and condolences go out to the whole Pettitt family during this time. Uncle Ron was always a pillar of the family and a man I have always loved and respected in the way he treated everyone he came in touch with. I remember the years that the family lived in Winnipeg, not far from where I lived at the time in Charleswood, and was glad to be able to spend more time with everyone back then. There were many times that Uncle Ron lead everyone in a sing-song, either around an open campfire or in the comfort of the family home, and the music that was shared by all, gave life to each of our souls. I will always carry my memories of Uncle Ron in my heart and know that now he is playing his guitar, singing his heart out and leading the Angels in Heaven.

  18. An R.C.M.P. reunion will be had whenmy Dad and Yours find each other. The Macara/Pettitt connection runs deep. Our sincere condolences to all of the family
