A service for Jennifer will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2pm at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church (170 Shuswap St SE, Salmon Arm, BC).

Jennifer Lindsay Pring (Cross) of Salmon Arm, British Columbia passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Jennifer was born August 5, 1947 in Trail, BC to Patricia and Lindsay Cross.  After graduating from J.L. Crow Secondary in 1966, Jennifer attended Trail Business College and then moved to Vancouver where she worked at the Bank of Montreal.
In May of 1969 she married Arnold James Pring of Victoria, BC, her husband of 47 years.  Jennifer and Arnie moved to Germany six months later where they lived for 4 years.  During this time Jennifer danced and toured with the Airforce Pipes and Drums and taught ballet to the children of military personnel.
She returned to Canada in 1973 where she and her family called Kingston, Ontario, Edmonton, Alberta and Calgary, Alberta home.  In 2001 Jennifer and her husband moved to Salmon Arm, BC.
During her time in Calgary Jennifer worked for the Arthritis Society – AB/NWT Division and retired in 1999 as Director of Educational Services.  Once in Salmon Arm she spent 5 years working as the Executive Director of the Shuswap Hospice Society.  After retiring for the second time Jennifer threw herself into volunteer work with the Anglican Church.  She was involved at the parish, Diocese of Kootenay and national levels and has enjoyed this time immensely.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Arnold James Pring, children, Tania Stevenson (Shane) and Lindsay Pring (Sarah), grandchildren, James, Brett and Adele.  She is also survived by her sister Elisabeth Forsyth (Kenneth), brother Mel Cross (Valerie), and sister Heather Hamer (Richard).

  1. Jennifer joined our aerobics group a few years ago and we soon got to know her at our coffee gatherings afterwards.
    She was a vibrant lady with great determination and compassion. We were sorry she could not return after she became ill.
    Our deepest condolences go out to her family.

  6. Sincere condolences to Arnie and family on Jennifer’s passing . We grew up together in Warfield . Our mothers were great friends . I last saw Jennifer at our High School reunion in 1991. I would like to send my condolences to Elizabeth, Mel and Heather, they will miss their sister .
    Having read Jennifer’s timeline for the recent 50year high school reunion I was so impressed with all she had accomplished and contributed over her life . She will be greatly missed .

  7. The Jennifer I knew and loved was the sincerest of souls. She truly understood the value of good fellowship and gave of herself freely. She was always the first to pitch in to help, to lend an ear and to give you the gift of her time. May she rest in the peace and knowledge that she will be forever missed.   10. I was truly floored when I learned of Jennifer’s passing. My sincere condolences go out to Arnie and family. Jennifer was always front and center every August during our PacSigs annual reunions. Jennifer will be missed by any and all who knew her.
