at the age of 88 years:
With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce that on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 Jim Rowe of Salmon Arm, BC passed away at the age of 88 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorene, children Shirley (Wayne) Bath of Salmon Arm, BC, Raymond Rowe of Calgary, AB, Barbara (Bob) Sollinger of Spruce Grove, AB and Ken (Kumala) Rowe of Kelowna, BC, 12 grandchildren/step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren/step grandchildren, 2 great great step grandchildren as well as brother Harold (Carol) Rowe of Vulcan, AB and sister Maryanne (Doug) Leach of Sundre, AB. Jim was predeceased by his parents Clifton (Cliff) Reginald in 1998 and May (Maisie) Elizabeth in 2000, sister Shannon May in 1956 and brother Ernest John in 2019.
Jim was a mechanic/engineer of IOL for most of his working life and it was through his career that his love for flying emerged. Jim was happiest when flying the big blue skies in any type of aircraft, but his favourite was his home-built airplane.
There will be no services held per Jim’s wishes and his cremated remains will be dealt with at a later date.
So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim .He was a super guy . I got to know him and Dorene years ago when they started to build there house on eagle bay road .where i did some machine work for them .My condolences go out to the Family .

I am saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. It was always a pleasure to drop into the hangar for a few words with Jim. He had a wealth of knowledge and was wiling to share and give advice to any of our construction problems. I had the privilege of calling Jim a friend.
