February 24, 1938 – June 28, 2017
at the age of 79 years
Celebration of Life: Saturday, July 8, 2017, 2:00 p.m., Carlin Hall
Larry passed away peacefully in Salmon Arm General Hospital, with family at his side. His huge loving heart gave out at the age of 79. Larry is survived by the love of his life, Jude Anderson. He is also survived by his children Clinton, Brent, Mary, Ken, Rodger. And Jude’s children Pamela, Jeffery, Sara, Ben, his sister Grace, 25 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Larry was predeceased by both his parents, Charles & Gertrude, brother Park and his son Bernard.
Larry was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta on February 24, 1938. He moved to the Tappen area with his father shortly after losing his beloved mother when he was only 14. As a teenager he worked on the road crews that built many of the first roads in the area. Larry then went on to work at the local sawmill, Lakeside Timber, for a few years before starting his Lumber and Trucking business, which he successfully ran for over 50 years. He was happiest behind the wheel of one of his trucks delivering or picking up lumber as well as stories and memories that he continued to share with everyone. You cannot drive far without passing a home built with his lumber and you could think of him whenever you walked on the old wharf because he supplied the lumber for it.
He led a truly amazing life and survived many challenges, from a tractor rolling over him to a train hitting his truck. Anyone who ever met him will never forget him as he was generous, funny and helped more people than we will ever know. A well-respected local businessman of over 50 years, Larry will truly be missed by family, friends, his many clients and the entire surrounding communities.
In lieu of flowers, please pay forward your kindness or a donation in his honor to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 729 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B5.
My heartfelt thoughts & prayers go out to you Jude, Larry’s children Clinton, Brent, Mary, Ken & Rodger. And Jude’s children Pamela, Jeffery, Sara, Ben, his sister Grace, 25 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many other loved family and friends.
God bless you all richly with Jesus’love.

Jude and Family
Sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. Lots of great memories of him and his wisdom. Hard worker, kind, giving and always had a word to share with you. Jude, he would light up when he came into The Goldpanner and you were working. Somedays you would walk in and very one was busy and he would think nothing of serving coffee to people. The smile on his face when driving down the highway will never been forgot. He was a light to so many people and will sadly be missed.. Thinking you all and keep your memories close in your heart..

Our condolences to Larry’s family during this very sad time. Thinking of you all.
Gwen and Larry Wallace
Larry told us to take the lumber to build our home and to pay when we could. We could not have succeeded without Larry’s generosity. Larry has been a great neighbour for over forty years. We miss you, from Gwen and Larry.
A true neighbor who always helped others. He was a local business man who always treated everyone fairly.
All of us in the community will certainly miss Larry.
From Gwen and Larry Wallace
Gwen and I could not have built our home without the generosity of Larry. He said to pay for the lumber when we were not pressured. We had him over to visit when the house was done. We have known him for over forty years. Thank you very much Larry.
Jude and family:
I am truly sorry for your loss. Larry was a kind and generous man. He would help out anyone in need. He will be sadly missed. I was very blessed to have known him for many years through the Esso station.
We will miss you Larry! A true fixture of our community. Rest in peace.
